My Favorite Products Right Now
Hellooooo everyone!
How is everyone?! I feel like I have been slacking so much lately and have not been creating premium content. It is so hard to juggle a full time job and a blog because, as much as I love it, blogging is a job! I have to shoot the content, edit the content and write! I wish I could just travel the world and blog, but unfortunately that is not reality at this moment.
This past weekend, I got to go to my home town, Kansas City, for Mother’s Day!!! It was soooo nice to spend time with my mom and my sisters. It was super rainy and cold the entire weekend which I was nooooot expecting, so we didn’t get to do a lot of the things we wanted, but that’s okay! Just means i’ll have to go back soon. We went to my sister’s FIRST wedding dress appointment and it was so special for us all to be there! We think she found the one, so the fact that we got to see it was so amazing. Her wedding is just over a year away, so now we get to start the fun part of the planning!
I love Kansas City so much and my heart was so happy to be there. We drove around and saw our old house and tried to get in as much as we could in our short trip.
I am by no means a makeup or beauty guru, but I thought it would be fun to share my favorite products lately! I have finally found my routine of skin care and makeup that go really well with my skin, so I’m excited to share my routine with you guys!
Makeup:
Laura Mercier Translucent Glow Setting Powder & Matching Brush
After hearing all of the raving reviews about this, I thought I would give it a try! I have always struggled with finding the perfect setting powder. There are so many things I look for in a setting powder… being the right color, not being cakey, not being too translucent, etc… When I first tried this….. you guys. I will never get another setting powder. It lasts all day long and it gives my skin such a nice glow without looking too greasy. It also comes with so much, so one batch lasts me like 2 months which is amazing. I HIGHLY recommend. I have not tried the original setting powder, but I will next!
When I was getting a new batch of it, the woman at Nordstrom sold me on the matching brush that goes with the glow powder. It has a groove in the brush that makes it so it hugs your cheek bones and any creases. I typically wouldn’t have let someone talk me into getting a brush just because I have soooo many brushes, but I was very happy about this purchase, it’s my new favorite!
Christian Dior Forever High Perfection Foundation
I have to give my sister, Ali, credit for this one! When I was in Kansas City over the weekend, she mentioned that it didn’t last all day long, but I had heard such great things that I really wanted to try it. Everyone’s skin is so different which I think is so beautiful. There are so many foundations that everyone is obsessed with, but do not work with my skin at aaaaaall and vise versa. I was so impressed with this foundation. First of all, it smells just like Christian Dior perfume, so it feels so luxurious when you’re putting it on. I put Laura Mercier primer on before foundation, and it lasted until the next morning (don’t judge me, I had a few too many glasses of prosecco and forgot to take off my makeup that night!). I am so thankful my sister turned me on to this because it is now my favorite liquid foundation.
One of the reasons I love Benefit is because so much of their stuff comes in mini versions, so you can try things before committing to a full size version! I love pretty much every blush, highlighter and bronzer from Benefit, so I knew this wouldn’t be any different. I absolutely love this blush. It has a warm, golden tint to it and has the perfect amount of shimmer. It goes reeeeeally well with the Laura Mercier glow setting powder I mentioned above. It isn’t too pigmented, so it isn’t overwhelming when it is applied. It also smells reeeaally good.
If you couldn’t already tell, I loooooove shimmer. I love it. I think it goes so beautifully with my skin and I tend to always gravitate towards shimmery makeup. I love the way it shines in the sun. I’ve never gone too crazy with eye shadow colors, so I always get nude, shimmery shades. I saw this one at Nordstrom Rack and I was instantly hooked. It was the most beautiful shade and the perfect amount of shimmer. I tried it on the second I get home, as you do (everyone else does that, right?), and I am not kidding when I say I went back to get a second one. I was obseeeessed with the shade.
Products
Ouai Leave in Conditioner Spray
This was suuuuuuch a good find in the Spring FabFitFun box! I have used Ouai’s products before and this one did not disappoint. It leaves my hair soooo soft and silky. It also smells sooo good. It’s always nice to find products that work for you in the FFF boxes because, like I said earlier, everyone’s skin and hair is so different.
I love absolutely everything by Mer-Sea. Everything smells so yummy and they just have the best products. This body polish feels so good and delicate on my skin. It leaves my skin so soft and smelling so good. They have my absolute favorite candle and room spray around the holidays, Sea Pines. It actually smells like real pines and it is the best for Christmas. I absolutely love this brand and the best part is, they are based in Kansas City!
I think it’s pretty obvious why I love Bliss products….. Not only do I love them for the name, I love them for the quality! I remember when I smelled my first Bliss Spa. My dad took us to San Francisco for a trip and we stayed at the W Hotel and there is a Bliss Spa located in every W hotel. I remember smelling the spa for the first time and absolutely falling in love with it. I love anything with a lemon scent, so their signature Lemon & Sage scent is soooo yummy. I was ECSTATIC when Bliss came out with a line for Target! They have everything from masks, lotions, body wash, etc…
Bliss Mighty Marshmallow Whipped Mask
I have posted this on my instagram so many times because it is soo great. It is so light and leaves my skin feeling so soft and smelling so good. It is literally as light as a marshmallow and isn’t harsh like a lot of masks are. It doesn’t sting at all which I know a lot of masks do. Justin knows how much I love Bliss products, so this last Christmas, he filled my stocking with alllllll Bliss products. I was one happy girl.
L'Oréal Pure Clay Cleanser & L'Oréal Sugar Scrub
Sorry, this part will be a little long, just warning you!
I have always been so thankful for my skin. I never had an acne problem and it has always been consistent with how it feels and looks. Of course I get the occasional pimples and zits, but I never really went through an acne phase which I am so thankful for. Both my parents have absolutely beautiful skin, so I have them to thank. When we went on our honeymoon to Europe, I was breaking out like I never have before. It was absolutely horrible and I felt so insecure. I barely took any photos of myself in Europe because all I could see was my horrible skin. I struggled so much with it because I have never had this problem before. It was everywhere, my forehead, my cheeks, my chin, eeeeeverywhere. I figured it was from the stress of the last minute preps for the wedding, traveling and all the food we were eating at restaurants. Whatever it was, I needed it to stop. I went to Target the day after we got home and got soooooo many different types of exfoliators, scrubs, masks, I was desperate to try anything. After about a week, I finally narrowed it down to 2 products that completely transformed my skin back to it’s usual self. I first use the L'Oréal Pure Clay Cleanser because it has the perfect texture to give my skin a good scrub. The exfoliators were a little too harsh on the breakouts, so this was a great alternative. Next, I use the L’Oreal Brown Sugar Scrub. This is a suuuuuper gentle scrub that I use every night before I go to bed. I love the way it smells and I love how gentle the texture is. It’s as if you’re rubbing suuuuper soft brown sugar on your face. After about 2 weeks of doing this every single day, my skin was FINALLY back to normal. My confidence was back and I felt amazing. I absolutely hated how insecure I felt in Europe and now I will never not use these products.
I hope you guys enjoyed seeing some of my favorite products! I know everyone has different skin, but these are just my personal favorite things that I now use every single day and I can’t live without them. Like I said earlier, I am by no means a beauty guru or anything close to that. I never really talk about what I use and my favorite products, so I hope you enjoyed seeing them!
Tell me what your favorite products are! Have you tried any of these that I mentioned? What are some things I should try next?? Let me know in the comments or send me a message on my Instagram!
