Okay I know it has quite literally been 17 years since my last post, but I am back! I felt like I was writing to no one, so I took a little breather from posting…BUT, I just celebrated my 30th birthday last week and now very much in a “I couldn’t care less” phase of my life, so I couldn’t care less if I am writing only to myself! I have always said while writing my blog I don’t care if one person is reading or 500 people are, so why did I all of a sudden start caring?
A lot has happened since I was last posting! The biggest thing being we have moved! My husband and I were in a little townhouse and we have since moved to a house just a few streets away. I am absolutely obsessed with our home… It is a little bungalow style house from the 1920s with so much character. It is definitely an older house and definitely showing its age in some areas, but I just absolutely love it. When we first toured the house, the first thing I noticed when we opened the door was the rod iron staircase. I have always wanted a rod iron staircase railing, so I knew it was meant to be. It also has….wait for it….a breakfast nook!!! Ok, it’s not technically a breakfast nook, but I made it into one. There is a little alcove in the kitchen that is the perfect space for a little bistro nook that I have always wanted. I love the little details of everything from the closet door moldings to the paper towel holder on the wall to the french doors in the dining room and guest room.
It is going to be a very long time until we have all of the furniture we want because, well, that’s very expensive, but we are making it more and more cozy every day! Although it isn’t finished, I thought I would share a few photos of the house in its current state. Please keep in mind we are still very much a work in progress!
The little nook! I want to add so much more to it, but this marble bistro table is the perfect size for the space.
This space used to be pretty bare, but my sister passed along this gorgeous rug that used to be in my dad’s house! It ads the perfect warmth the first level needed. The master bedroom is also on the main level, but it it absolutely not photo ready lol.
the iron staircase!
The guest room is one of my favorites in the house. It is still a work in progress, but it is so cozy and I love decorating it.

I have SO many things I want to do to the dining room, I just can’t do it all at once! I would love to get a rectangle, dark wood dining table in there along with new dining chairs.
Again, please don’t judge too harshly! It is very much a work in progress and I know a lot of it still looks bare and unfinished.
I still have a lot to make updates on and I hope you will follow along! Thank you for being here and for reading these.
